'Ghost in the Shell 3D': Spielberg kauft Filmrechte

Das Manga nach Masamune Shirow erschien erstmals 1989 als Manga-Comic. Es folgten 2 weitere Manga-Comics, 3 Anime Filme, 1 Anime TV-Serie und 3 Videospiele. Der zweite Anime Film 'Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence' wurde 2004 in den USA von DreamWorks veröffentlicht.

Avi Arad, Ari Arad und Steven Paul von Seaside Entertainment werden das Projekt finanzieren. 'Ghost in the Shell ist eine meiner Lieblingsgeschichten und wir freuen uns riesig das Manga Genre bei DreamWorks begrüßen zu dürfen,' sagt Steven Spielberg. DreamWorks Präsident Adam Goodman sei zudem von den optimalen 3D-Qualitäten der Story überzeugt.

Wann das Projekt in die Tat umgesetzt werden soll ist allerdings noch nicht bekannt. Doch wenn Spielberg selbst die Regie führen wird, geht es normalerweise immer recht zügig voran.
